Employee Spotlight - Getting to know Leah!
Leah joined the GCMTPL team November of 2009. In her current role she serves as the Teen Librarian.
When asked what she likes best about working here at the library, she said, “My coworkers are the best thing about working here. We love playing pranks on each other and making this a fun place to work and an enjoyable place to be for our patrons.” She shared that one of the most unique aspects of working here at the library is that “it’s definitely not a quiet or boring place, as some people perceive libraries to be.” What she loves the most about being a librarian: “Making the library a welcoming place for the teens. I love when we start to see them coming back and bringing friends.” Fun Question & Answer w/ Leah: Prompt: “Name one thing – either personally or professionally – you learned in the last year.” Leah’s response: “Music has always been so important to me. I love songs with a good harmonica solo and decided it's time for me to learn to play, so I've been working on that.” Question: “What is a fact that few people know about you?” Leah’s response: “I'm a snapping turtle wrangler.” Question: “What do you like to do to unwind?” Leah’s response: “I love kayaking, fishing, listening to music, watching scary movies, and of course, reading.” Question: “If there’s one thing you could tell your younger self, what would it be?” Leah’s response: “Don't start drinking coffee... you'll never stop.” When you stop in the library, be sure to find Leah and say hello!
